Our History

The Idaho Asian American Pacific Islander Youth Alliance was founded in March 2021 in Boise, Idaho.  Driven by the spa shooting in Atlanta, Georgia, where 6 of 8 victims were Asian women, several youths helped organize a peaceful protest. After this event, four high schoolers co-founded the IAAPIYA, with the goal of building a safe community for AAPI youth all over the state.
